Don't you think, by experience, that we are more than flesh and blood? . It takes nothing to see God. Look at your reflection in the mirror; how meticulously you were designed. Ponder on your own existence, everything that has led you to this point. Don't you think there is something keeping all of this together that is beyond what we can ever explain? And are we not, with our mere existence, connected to this "thing"? . You do stuff and you are spiritual. Regardless of what you do. Read that again. . There is nothing you must do to be spiritual. I wrote this quote around 4 weeks ago, but somehow never elaborated on it. It was initially inspired by "My Take on Experiences" - check it out on the blog!✨ . As long as we are alive, we are susceptible to unconscious or conscious responses and experiences. We decide to experience based on old conditioning and past experiences or awareness of what is happening at any given time. Mindfulness is a continuous process. . Whenever we come out of a place of unconsciousness, we often react to the world as if the world is happening to us. This is because we are ignorant of what's happening inside and get triggered by outside. Whenever inside of us is troubled, it reflects itself to the outside and you are more vulnerable to react to your environment accordingly. . On the other side, you can be aware of what’s happening both inside and outside you – and out of a place of awareness you choose how to respond. You can observe possible scenarios and outcomes of whatever you’re thinking to do or say as a response to outside stimuli and then decide the course of action. . Detached observations can give you much insight. But as humans, we feel so intensely. These feelings, often unconscious, usually take the lead and say and do things on our behalf. With this post I want to remind you that we are constantly deciding between ignorant reactions and aware observations. Give yourself time to choose your experience by observing your emotions and thoughts before. . Background Art by @artbystevej 🎨✨

“If you want a butterfly, you got to be a butterfly” - @IndiaArie ✨🦋 . Sitting with my friends in the park a few days ago, a butterfly was flying around us. A very friendly, I'd say… This butterfly felt comfortable enough around our energy to land on us multiple times. It had a moment with me, too, where it stood there on my arm quite comfortably, without any rush to leave. . Looking at it deeply in an eye, I got reminded of the beauty of transformations; there is so much beauty in evolutionary change. Growing pains are there for transformations to happen. I smiled as I gazed at the beautiful creature 🐛✨🦋 . Its detached nature reminded me of the freedom that comes with growth. The friendly butterfly reminded me that I’m changing and evolving into something I know exists but haven’t experienced yet. NEW BLOG POST ALERT: Thrive In Systems ⚠️✨.. "The most common system that I see is the traditional working system; the full-time job. Perhaps because I am now a full-time intern in an organization, I reflect on my experience the past 2 weeks. I first had to get used to the system – physically and mentally. I had to get used to being in a space for over 8 hours per day, and working for 8 hours. I love what I do in that organization – it’s important for me, and I support it, but that’s not my point. This post is meant to shed light on societal constructions and how we deal with those, not whether or not full-time jobs are a good or bad thing. I truly believe it’s up to us to give our lives purpose. Some find their purpose serving in a full-time, 9 to 5 job. [...] It’s impressive how we commit to organizations and want to deliver our best, but when it’s about showing up for ourselves, we do so so-so. I saw this in me the past few weeks; I put a stop to everything I was doing, and most of my attention was on the job. I didn’t write, I barely meditated, didn’t sport, barely socialized… Just working and Netflixing after work. In two weeks time I realized that I must be able to get more out of my time, regardless of a full-time internship. Even if I happen to end up in a full-time job, it’s up to me to do that temporarily or stay in its overarching system. Living my life my way is my decision."
