It’s been soooo long since I wrote a #SongForSoul post. But India.Arie inspired me to write one again. This post is an ode to the Goddess that she is. Happy Bornday, India (October 3rd was her b-day).
Guys, I loooveee good music. But then again, who doesn’t? Maybe I should say that I love music with inspiring, motivating, energetic, light and fulfilling content. Lyrics are very important here. This is also why I have the Songs For Soul Playlist (which I’m going to update very soon, so please send me some of your most inspiring songs.). India.Arie is something else, though… Not only does she have “good” music (believe me, good is underrated), she has healing music. Her music has helped me in so many ways. There is healing in her words and there is power in her voice. I will be forever grateful for her music.
SoulBird Rise is one of those songs that give me a peaceful stream of energy when I’m in a receptive state. It’s a song of empowerment and transition. Filled with affirmations, it’s an anthem for my soul. Usually, it’s when I am in the flow and know where I want to go, when the vision is clear, even if the route is unfamiliar, that I resonate most with this song. It’s usually once I have surrendered to Life and let go of what weighs me down that the lyrics suit me most. But the song also applies when everything is confusing, as the affirmations in the song usually bring peace and new insights.
There are some days where confusion and uncertainty fog our consciousness and lower our vibration. It’s natural. In those moments, it’s always handy to go back to what works energetically. This song helps me with that (though I have to admit that when my judgment is clouded I’m not usually receptive to hearing the Truths expressed in this anthem or any other for that matter, but I’m working on that).
Since I’m in transition again, and India’s birthday was yesterday, I thought of sharing this gift, her song, with you.
